My experience with Trados is very limited so I am hoping someone can help me - I would like to create a TM from already translated (bilingual) Excel files.
Could someone provide a step-by-step guide as I have no clue where to start!
Also, would it be possible to create a TM from multiple Excel files?

I have Studio 2014.

Thank you very much in advance!

Creating a TM from Excel Files Mar 2, 2016

Hi Ayano,

With your Studio 2014 Freelance license you have an access to Open Exchange Portal,
there you can download Free of charge the Glossary Converter app which will allow you to convert Excel files into TMX by drag and drop function.

Please take a look at the article below which will explain further on how to create a TM's from Excel file:

I hope it will help!

Kind regards,

what about Studio 15 Mar 2, 2016

Hi Roman,
I recently got a Studio 2015 Freelance.

I previously did a job in Wordfast Classic by copying the source EN from an Excel file into work and creating an new TM txt file.
Now I like to do an addition of that job in my Studio.

Which is better, to use the already created Wf txt memory or make one out of the Excel file? If you could also give advice on how to do it, I would be grateful.

I just tried to import the txt Wf TM into Studio and it's not accepted.
Best,
Halli

I use this very easy tool Mar 3, 2016

NB! Perform a quick check before creating the TM to make sure that the cells are properly aligned.

To convert an bilingual Excel file to Studio TM, see the paragraph on "Excel + SDL Trados Studio" here:
