Hello everyone,

I have one question: I have recently taken a Proz Webinar of SDL Trados 2015 Part 1. Everything was fine and I understood it but when using Trados 15 myself, I had the following problem:

I open a new text document in editor to translate

I create a new TM before opening the editor, as being asked by Trados (maybe here I have to do sth with the SDL MultiTerm 2015 that came with my freelance package?)

The English Source Text opens in Editor

I start translating. The word restaurant appears at least 10 times in the source text but when having translated and confirmed it into German, no exact or fuzzy matches appear in the target text.

I am sure it is a simple problem I just don't see, some click, some button...
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Teresa

TM vs. Glossary Mar 20, 2016

Hello Teresa,

this is a kind of misunderstanding. The TM stores the translated segments, not the single words. The segments as entities have to match, the whole segment for an exact match, at least 70% for a fuzzy match.
If you use the concordance search for „restaurant“ your translated segments with this term will show up.

With MultiTerm you can create a glossary that shows you every time the word „restaurant“ and its translation automatically when it appears in a segment.

HTH,

Silke

Thanks very much Silke. Now I got it
Now I just have to find out how to create a glossary with Multi Term but I am sure on the net or here I will find some help on that one.

Liebe Grüße,
Teresa
