Hello,

I am having some problems in translating bookmarks and cross references in ms_words file while using Trados. Using 'Copy Source' option doesn't always help. especially not in Trados 5.0.
I would be happy if someone will be willing to share his\her experience.

Thanks ahead,
Shlomit.

Use the "trados bookmark handler" template Mar 6, 2005

This can be found in the Trados installation directory.

Follow this link http://www.translationzone.com/download.asp?menuItem=3 and download the TRADOS File Formats Reference Guide.
Follow the steps described there.

the same problem than Shlomit Mar 7, 2005

Hi, I just posted a similar question than Shlomit without luck...
I have followed Jerzy's recommendation and download the TRADOS File Formats Reference Guide and looked for the Bookmar Handler. dot file following the indications but I can't find it on my PC. What can I do?
My PC runs under Windows XP, I use Windows Office 2000. My TRADOS is 5.5.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Please make sure, that your PC is showing all file types Mar 7, 2005

which is NOT the DEFAULT setting of Windows!
*.dot files are considered to be system files, and are therefore not shown. If you switch all system and hidden files, be sure to uncheck "Hide extensions of known file types" too, as otherwise you get only "Filename" shown, without extension.
To change this settings use the "Folder settings" or "Folder options" from Control panel (I have german XP, so you will need to look a bit around to find your way through).

After these settings are properly done, go to Trados installation folder and look there. Usually the path is: C:\Program files\TRADOS\T65_FL\TT\Templates for Trados 6.5

Contact me via my profile Mar 7, 2005

and I send it to you.

As simple as that.
After you have this macro, please activate it in Word and follow the steps described in the said guide.
It is very easy to use.

Bookmark Handler download Mar 8, 2005

Hi all,
Sorry for the late response - just got back to my office.

AFAIK the macro is not available for download from the Trados website - which is why I uploaded it to my web server. Anyone who needs it may contact me through my profile (as I said before - have you tried the Advanced Forum Search?).

HTH, Ralf
