Merging of segments: in which file formats?

Is the merging of adjacent segments possible in all file formats? If not, which file formats are supported?

Question in return: May 13, 2016

Is it possible in CT to merge all adjacent segments (even three or four) of sdlxliff files being processed with CT?

That's what I want to find out. First I have to know how Studio itself behaves.

Before I examine CafeTran's behaviour, I'd like to know which file formats allow segment merging in Studio. I expect that this will be possible in file formats like DOCX but not in e.g. InDesign. True?

Perhaps true May 13, 2016

... but I don´t know whether your assumption is true because I do not process sdlxliff files in Studio, but only in Deja Vu. But even there I am often annoyed about not being able to merge some of the adjacent segments of sdlxliff files and I thought CT would perhaps plough them through anyway.

I didn't dare to test it (yet) May 13, 2016

I've been afraid to test it in CafeTran. Nothing more irritating than not being able to export a long translation because of compatibility issues.

One day, I'll dare to test icon_wink.gif.
