rename what? Feb 9, 2017

Hello Sergei,

I am not sure how do you mean it, but when you finish certain project in Trados (I am using 2014) you receive a sdlxliff file. Right click+rename on it does not give the option to change the suffix.
Thanks

All SDLXLIFF files are also XLIFF files.

However, your client or your other tool might not recognise the XLIFF file as an XLIFF file if the file extension is not "XLIFF" or "XLF".

So one option is to change the file extension of your SDLXLIFF file. However, before you can do that, you have to change your Windows settings so that it shows file extensions. Google for it, e.g. "show file extensions windows 10".

If the file is named foo.sdlxliff, then you can rename it to either foo.xlf (or foo.xliff) or foo.sdlxliff.xlf (or foo.sdlxliff.xliff) (the latter is better).

Find out what file extension your client or your other tool requires... XLF or XLIFF.

Save as target Feb 9, 2017

Hi Alžbeta,

You haven't specified what the problem is, but I assume you have received an xliff file from the client, you have translated it in SDL Studio and received an sdlxliff file.

Just click File > Save target as, and you will get an option to save the file in its native format. That's all.

HTH,
Natalia
