Hello.
I am using SDL Trados 2015. I have a project template with 4 termbases and systematically the terms in the predetarminate termbase are not recognized at all.
There in no the first time.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Paula

Similar problem in Studio 2017 May 11

I had a similar problem in January, where the Studio 2017 term base window 'froze' at a given term and didn't update the term base view any further. No error message was displayed. I reported it to support, but they have taken ages to deal with it, and after more than one and a half month without any reaction from them, they suddenly closed the ticket in my face without warning, because I didn't react within a few days after they finally sent an e-mail – because I was busy with real work. Their somewhat dysfunctional ticket system doesn't allow reopening a ticket once closed, and closing the ticket meant that all the files uploaded for testing were deleted, so I had to upload the whole thing again.

A different support person is now dealing with it and said:

"The idea is that under Windows 7 Visual c++ components are 'outdated' for Studio 2017. Although the Studio installer contains Visual c++ Redistributable installers, it won`t update the already installed versions on your PC. Having said this, A complete remove of Studio is needed + the removal of all Microsoft Visual C ++ Redistributable, which will all be reinstalled back along the fresh installation of Studio. Also, the dotNET instance should be the latest version installed."

I have been given no reply to my question about why their installer doesn't install it right the first time when they are aware of these requirements.

I have no idea whether it is the same reason that is behind your problem.

I'm not impressed with Studio and SDL support.

Unfortunately, none of this is likely to help you.

Missing TB terms May 12

I have also had this problem periodically in the past.
It is sometimes solved by:
1. Reorganising the TB
or
2. Refereshing the editor view

Sometimes a computer boot is necessary

Happens all the time May 12

It happens all the time. Term bases in Studio are a train wreck.

- Why does the font in Term Recognition appear weird, as if it doesn't use ClearType?
- Why very often when trying to add a term do you get an error about scripts that refuses to go away until you restart Studio?
- Why when you want the window undocked and pinned does the pin icon display incorrectly (horizontal when the window is pinned and vertical when it is unpinned)? And why the next time you launch Studio is the window pinned and you need to unpin it again?
- Why use Javascript for such a critical component as Terminology?

Typical suffeware behaviour... A true UX disaster, causing no end of frustration.
