(Temporarily) replace authoring system's representation of a non-breaking dash with a real dash

I want to (temporarily) replace an authoring system's representation of a non-breaking dash with a real dash (that doesn't hinder term recognition).

Obviously, the authoring system generated an XML that represents the non-breaking dash with:

In the SDLXLIFF (displayed in BBEdit):

Since all these non-breaking dashes are represented by unique IDs, how should I proceed? It's simply enough, to use a regular expressions to replace all IDs with '-'. But how to restore the IDs?
