I use tageditor from Trados 6.5.
My client asks me to translate a large Powerpoint file with Tageditor.
Never done it but I have read in different topics that is is easier than in T-Windows.. Good.. but when I try to open the file, the system asks for an ini.file... The client says I do not need it, when I try to use one of my ini-files, it does not work.
What can I do ?

.ppt or .ttx? Oct 11, 2005

Hi Martine,
I use tageditor from Trados 6.5.

Which version are you using (full version number including the 'build number', please - go to Help - About... to find out)? Do you happen to know what version your client uses?

but when I try to open the file, the system asks for an ini.file...

Which file are you trying to open - the source .ppt file, or a .ttx file provided by your client?

Best regards,
Ralf

IIRC the capability to translate PPT files was introduced with TagEditor 6.5. TE 6.0 doesn't recognise the file type - that's why it asks for the .ini file.

Best regards,
Ralf
