Hi, I have reviewed previous postings and I still can't figure this out. I have tried to read PowerPoint files with Tag Editor 6.5 and I always get the error message which says that it is not a supported format. In the Trados manuals, there is very little information. Do I have to store the PowerPoint file in another format? What I usually end up doing is storing the PowerPoint file as a .RTF file that Word can read and then I use Trados Wor... In this case, you should open the T-Window for PowerPoint, then open your PowerPoint file from there, and there you go. TagEditor does not support PowerPoint. | | | Tag Editor does support PowerPoint | Nov 22, 2005 |
(1) What exact version is your Trados? (Help-About in Workbench) (2) Does your TagEditor open Excel files? (3) You can try to reinstall MS Net (and/or Trados) Antonin | | | Waleed Mohamed United Arab Emirates Local time: 09:36 English to Arabic + ... Another problem | Nov 22, 2005 |

Hello PCovs, Please let me participate in this topic as it concerns me! I opened a PP presentation with T-Window. Whenever I try to open a segment, I am prompted with the message (This presentation contains unavailable fonts). How can I solve this? I tried to change the font to Arial or New Times Roman, but this did not work. The document is in English. Thanks for your help! Waleed

Hi Patricia, I have reviewed previous postings and I still can't figure this out. I have tried to read PowerPoint files with Tag Editor 6.5 and I always get the error message which says that it is not a supported format.
Which version are you using (full version number please, including the build number - go to Help - About if you don't know)? Have you registered the software (Start - Programs - Trados 6.5 - Register Trados 6.5) BTW I beg to disagree with PCovs: TagEditor does not support PowerPoint.
But of course it does - TagEditor 6.5.x and higher supports PowerPoint files. However, IIRC early versions (6.5.1.406 in particular) had some problems. Hi Waleed, I opened a PP presentation with T-Window. Whenever I try to open a segment, I am prompted with the message (This presentation contains unavailable fonts). How can I solve this? I tried to change the font to Arial or New Times Roman, but this did not work. The document is in English. This issue is one of the reasons why using TagEditor is recommended... Check this article from the Trados KB - just to see how forum search works, enter "unavailable fonts" and restrict the search to this forum... works a charm! Hi again, Trados Translator's Workbench Version 6.5.2.4217 (build 417) Should Tag Editor work correctly?
Yes in principle, although it's a good idea to upgrade to build 441. For this purpose, you first need to upgrade to build 438, and then apply the patch to build 441. HTH, Ralf
Hello Ralf, I solved the problem by installing the patch to upgrade to version 6.5.2.4219. The patch can be downloaded from this website: www.translationzone.com. I guess that applying the patch that Ralph mentioned would also have solved the problem. I wanted to thank everyone who helped. Thanks, Patricia
