Windows XP
MultiTerm iX, MultiTerm 7

Hello,
I've created several termbases because of problems during the termbase creation but when I try to open a termbase with the Word template for MutiTerm or when I try to add a termbase to a project I get all the useless termbases I created before. How could I delete those termbases from the list. Where are they physically on the harddisk and what kind of files are they? *.mbd? If so, how do I know which one I'm deleting? I've tried deleting some of those MDB files but the termbases still appear in the list...

Deleting termbases Nov 30, 2005

In MultiTerm 7: Termbase - Package/Detach Termbase - select termbase and check "Detach termbase". It will be deleted from the central database.

I don't know the central db's name, but I think Ralf mentioned it in another post, try to search the forums.

mtmaster.mdb Nov 30, 2005

Hi Hynek,
I don't know the central db's name, but I think Ralf mentioned it in another post, try to search the forums.

That's mtmaster.mdb, which contains a Termbase list connecting 'friendly names' with the database files.

Bear in mind that damaging mtmaster.mdb may render your termbases inaccessible; therefore, I wouldn't tamper with the database files unless you're really running out of memory...

HTH, Ralf

Hi Ralf,

I knew you would come in.icon_smile.gif

I wouldn't touch the database directly, I just wanted to give complete info. Well, sort of.

Thanks for asking that! Dec 1, 2005

I, too, have been wondering about that, so now I'll know what to do.

Thanks!

Nora
