I have encountered the following problems with Trados 5.5 recently:

During the clean-up of a document I receive the following error message

21474/7851: RPC_E_SERVERDEFAULT (The Server threw an exception)

Then the system crashes and does not clean up the file.

I would like to mention that I have worked with Trados for a long time and have not had such problems in the past.

What causes this problem and how can it be solved? Thank you for your help.

Christine

Check Trados KB Jul 18, 2002

I personally have not yet run into the problem, but it has been discussed on the TW_users list, and there is a patch available.

It\'s a way for deleting the hidden text. Please note that your TM will NOT be updated, if you changed any segment out of Trados. I would suggest also to make a backup copy of your Word file.

There is a patch for that problem Jul 18, 2002

Christine,

This same problem has been addressed in an unofficial Trados support group. I give you the response below, and a link to the group. I find it a very useful place to search for discussion of Trados issues that arise for me.

Good Luck,

Carolyn Denoncourt

What does the status bar of the Cleanup dialog in TWB tell you? Is it

Thanks so much for your quick replies and all the tips you have given to me. I have downloaded the patch and it works perfectly! It saved me with a 14,000 words translation!
