Workbench + capital letters in some documents

Hi,

There are some documents in which whenever you open the segment, the letters change into capital letters. If you then translate the sentence and close the segment again, there are two options:
In some documents, the letters change into small letters again, but in some cases they remain capitalized.
Of course there is no problem in changing that again, but why does that happen??
Thanks.

Sofia

Check the formatting defined by the style Dec 8, 2005

Hi Sofia,
Have you checked the formatting defined in the style that's set for the paragraph you're working on?

Best regards,
Ralf

Hi Ralf,

thank you very much for your prompt reply.
One file was apparently written in a header, for some strange reason. In another case it was a chart.

Best wishes,
Sofia

Use of Caps lock key vs. Use of Caps attribute Dec 8, 2005

If you are using Word with TWB, it is better to use the caps from the keyboard (Caps lock or shift) rather than using the caps attribute in the Format>Font menu or clicking the dedicated toolbar icon (not there by default but you can add it on the toolbar).
If you use the caps attribute, TWB sees it as a font attribute (just like italics or bold) and if the source text doesn't contain that attribute, then the target string is stripped from its Caps attribute. That's how I understand it.... See more

Let us know if that solves this behavior.

The text or a segment suddenly appears capitalized, without having done anything Dec 12, 2005

No, the caps appeared by themselves, without having done anything.
