TRADOS clean-up problem Thread poster: nettranslatorde

Hello, Can anyone tell me how to deal with this problem? While trying to clean up a huge file (Word.doc), Trados Freenlance 7.0 sends the error message: 352575064 Can'tprocess RTF format. What can I do now? Thank you in advance, Kerstin

...to Trados Support. Can't check right now (I'm on the road), but invalid RTF format was discussed a number of times before. Why don't you try the forum search? Best regards, Ralf

Hi Kerstin, This doesn't solve the problem you mention, but if you are in a hurry and need to clean the document this may help. If you are sure that you have updated all segments in the TM, you can go to Tools>Macros>choose tw4winClean.Main from the list. This will clean up all the Word document (Hopefully!), but won't update the TM. Luck! María José

Many thanks Maria and Ralf, I had just found this option when I searched the archives. It worked OK, and I was able to deliver a clean file to the client Also: I had sent a support request to Trados and received their reply with the same suggestion after only 15 minutes! Great to know if one needs help urgently. Have a nice day, Kerstin

I'm having the same problem and the macro solution worked for me too - did you ever find a "longer term" solution, ie one that updates the TM (although presumably all the segments are saved anyway)?
Thanks Maria, I was going crazy because of that!))

This post saved my project! But, is this a permanent damage in Trados or is just a problem with that particular file?
Well, it happens from time to time, that I come across files which doesn't clean up in Trados, but | Jan 26, 2010 |
the Macro always works.

My experience: If you have translated the files in Trados with a TM open, then the segments are already saved. No need to update the TM once again.
