Hi
I have a table to translate with Trados. It has two identical columns and I want to tag the first column hidden so that Trados doesn't touch it. This is because I need to have the final cleaned work in a bilingual two columned format.
Looking forward to your help!
Best
Rahi

1. In Word, assign a new style to the column you want to exclude. I believe you can do that under "Format" --> "Styles". Call that style "non-translatable".
2. In Translator's Workbench, go to "Settings" --> "Non-translatable Paragraphs". Add the style "non-translatable" to the list of non-translatable paragraphs.

You can assign a style named "DO NOT TRANSLATE" to the original language column (if it doesn't exist in your document yet, just create it).
Trados will automatically recognize that this part is to be skipped. Another style you could use is "TW4WinExternal".

That was obvious, but then again, maybe no.
I am using Tortoise Tagger for this kind of jobs. For a little more complicated (but realistic) things, like [leave alone anything between square brackets] etc
