Hello!

I have translated a file which contains a lot of tags. Unfortunately, the tags in the translated segments do not appear in the "hidden" form (not underlined), so that my client cannot convert the file into a framemaker file (the original file is a word). I tried to modify the button "Hide" in the font type, but it doesn't help. Even if I underline the tags "manually", these same tags are no more underlined when passing to another segment..

Does everyone know where the problem comes from?

Thanks a lot in advance

are tags OK on the source side? Aug 2, 2006

I see a discrepancy between using word on one side and producing something for Framemaker. Or you could retranslate (a wild guess) by specifying the source is an XML file.

What about redoing it all in TagEditor? You could edit the translation memory if it contains tags and you would eventually be on the safe side. Right now it looks like a lot of work...

Deliver a cleaned file too Aug 2, 2006

Than the source TAGs and all the source text will not more be there.

But...
This is really seldom, as the conversion process for Framemaker, using S-Tagger for Framemaker (and Vito - yes, the files are than processed in Word, nothing strange here) is very stable and resistent. Does your client get any error messages? There are possibly TAG errors. My experience is, that it does not matter, if the file used for conversion is cleaned or not - the process is working perfectly. S-Tagger simply ignores source text...
It would be really interested to hear what kind of errors does your client get when attempting to convert rtf to mif.

Regards
Jerzy

Good idea .. Aug 2, 2006

No, the tags are ok. They are "just" not hidden.. and I cannot hide them manually !! ..

For tageditor, I will ask my client if it is possible. If yes, it would not be a big work, because the TM has been created without problem ... let's see what the client says ...

Thanks a lot for your response and for your good idea ...
