Dear All

since this is not the first time it happens and so I've decided to fix it up...

I am going to translate a contract made up of 5-6 files. As every regular contract, they contain paragraphs, sub-paragraphs, headings, titles, etc. Well, SDLX doesn't open them. No way to make it work. I've already saved them as *.rtf but things don't change. I have noticed that this problem occurs every time the file contains some kind of formatting.

Any solutions?

Thanks in advance,

sabina

I don't think formatting has anything to do with it.

What version of Word do you have?

Is track changes switched on in these files? I often receive documents with track changes on and I simply approve all changes before I start translating, but I think you should actually ask your client.

Maybe the documents contain references to other objects which it can't access because they are in the client's network?

Or maybe they were saved in some "ancient" version of Word?

Are the files password protected?

Just guessing, but maybe these question will give you a clue.

HTH

Piotr
