Maybe I miss some settings?

I'm translating a text from English into Russian with Trados 6.5 Freelance in T-Window for Excel and not able to get my translation saved in the second excel file (_translated) created by the Trados. It stays in english. What is wrong?

Thank you

BTW - any particular reason why you're not using TagEditor?

Best regards,
Ralf

Thanx... Jan 28, 2007

I am sorry but TagEditor doesn't recognise the excel files... Or it does? In this case would you prompt - how?
Thank you

Which version? Jan 28, 2007

Hi again,
IIRC this depends on the exact version you're using: to my recollection, TE 6.5.5 or higher can open .xls files. I have been using T7.x for about a year now, so I'm afraid I can no longer check.

Best regards,
Ralf

If TagEditor cannot handle XLS... Jan 29, 2007

,,, then you can export the XLS as XML file. That should be doable with TagEditor, whatever the version. Assuming you can export to XML.

Using T-window is like doing dentistry without anaestetics. You can achieve the same with other means, but without feeling any pain (g).

Thank you a lot Jan 29, 2007

Thank you!
It was the sole way I could do it.
But other translated smaller excel files were saved and this-one is maybe too big?

So thank you again dear colleagues!
