Lost source in workbench trados 2006 freelance

I need help.
After clean up of a .ppt file, TM has changed source language, cleaned ppt file has remained unchanged (in source language) I am not able to restore file to work with.
I have to deliver...can someone help me?

Hi Claudia,

do I understand correctly that your work is in fact lost?
If the TM has changed to source language, and your file is also untranslated, I don't see any other option but to try and find some sort of backup file.
Did you save the .ppt before cleaning up? If you still have the bilingual, you may be able to create a new TM with it.

My goodness, this is a terrible situation you're in. Hope someone is able to offer more help, this is all I can come up

P.S. Can you negotiate a later deadline with your client? Stress is never a good thing in a situation like this.

Hi Margreet,
I did save as bilingual before cleaning up but in fact, there is no more "workable" .ttx file. I mean: I see the file, with translated segments but it doesn't allow me to re-create a new TM. (I created a new TM in order to re-build it by help of the segments...but the file (tageditor) doesn't allow to work with. "Open get" functions is not active, only "open" and "close".

Maybe is not as terrible as it seem?
Maybe you know how to reactivate them again?

I'm not sure about this, but have you tried Fix Document and/or Reorganise?

If that doesn't work, I don't know anything else, I'm really very sorry.
You must feel awful, being in a situation like this.
If you have time, maybe you can call Trados Support?

you know?

Language had changed but Workbench still worked in the correct source.
So I re-cleaned up the file and everything went right.

Do you know if there is a way to let this fact known?
I mean: let everybody know that in case there is no need to get in panic!
