Hi all,

A friend of mine is translating a bunch of .lang files, basically strings for a php-based web forum.

The layout for each line is like:

=>'Uploaded', 'ulspeed'

Opening these in Trados 6.5, TagEditor uses the html.ini, which makes everything translatable.
If possible I'd like to configure everything to be external-tagged except the first word between the single quotes.

Do you know if this is possible at all in T6.5, or does my friend need to upgrade or use another CAT tool.

My friend doesn't normally get jobs that require CAT tools, so he would prefer not to spend any money on this (the web forum is a voluntary thing...)

I'd use TortoiseTagger for it,,, The strategy:
1.) make the complete file external
2) change 'whatever' to translatable

these two lines is what TortoiseTagger interprets in such a fashion that Word knows what to do.

Good solution, Vito.

I'm a klutz with the search/replace tool in Word.

First I mark everything as external. No sweat.

I've figured out from the TortoiseTagger readme that the search query should be something like:
