I tried to export a termbase file from SDLX into all three different formatted files SDLX supplies (SDL Terminology, Trados MultiTerm and Tab-delimited Text).
But no matter which format I chose, there is no way I can easily convert the exported termbase into Trados importable TM. Does anyone have a good experence to share.
Thank you.

ApSic XBench Apr 5, 2007

Hi,

Once you have exported the termbase into a txt (tab-delimited text), you may use ApSIC XBench (http://www.apsic.com/en/products_xbench.html), load the glossary in a new project and export it as a tmx memory, which you can then easily import in Trados.
For me, it worked like a charm.

XBench is very easy to use, don't worry

HTH,
Sylvain

Error in TMX import Apr 5, 2007

Hi Sylvain,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Following your instruction to build a new project in Xbench then export the glossary into a .tmx formatted file, it didn't work while I tried to import it into the Workbench. The error message returned: Error in TMX import. I am using Trados Freelance 7.0 . Do you know how can I resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rachel,

Oh, sorry to hear that.
I'm afraid I won't be of any help here... I'm not a specialist of the tmx issues.

Good luck,
Sylvain
