Hi!
Let's see if someone can help me...
I use Trados 7 and today I realized that Trados Menu just disappeared from the Word menu bar. I can see Trados Toolbar (and all its buttons) but not the Menu.
I checked both the Trados7.dot template and the "disabled items" in word but nothing seems to work... I also reinstalled Trados but the menu did not appear...
Can you help me please???

is T4win flagged? Apr 15, 2007

Hi Luisa

Try this, right click on the toolbar of word and check if it is flagged, if not, just flag it,

If it is flagged you can try another option: Strumenti>Modelli e aggiunte (I suppose your word is in Italian) and add trados dot,

Some months ago a thing like that happed to me too; even if trados dot. was flagged I had to add another trados dot urgh

Hope it helps

Have a nice Sunday!

Angioletta

same problem Apr 15, 2007

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. For me, reinstallation was the solution. I'm not much of an IT expert so it was a great chellenge:) Hope you could sort it out by now.

Allelujah!!!! Apr 15, 2007

Grazie Angioletta!!!!

I added another trados7.dot and now it works...

The odd thing is that the "old" .dot files can not be deleted from the list...

Well, at least I can go on with my translation work now, I'll try and solve this problem later...

Veronika... I tried to reinstall Trados this morning but it did not work, I'm afraid I have some problems with MS Word... Sometimes strange things happen to my word files...

Thanx a lot!

this is really odd... Apr 15, 2007

...Now when I open a word document, Trados and Multiterm menu are not there. I select the .dot and they appear, but they disappear every time I close the Word file...
It just does not keep the .dot file flagged... why???

Try this way Apr 15, 2007

1. Close Word 2000, 2002 (XP) or 2003.

In folder
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

there is a TRADOS7.dot file.

At the same time, open folder
X:\Program Files\SDL International\T2006_FL\TT\Templates
there is a same TRADOS7.dot file.
you will find the first file is larger than the second file, replace the first one with the second one.

And delete Normal.dot in folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

2.

From the Start menu, select Run.
Type regedit into the Run box, and click OK.
Open the following key:
Word 2000: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Data.
Word 2002 (Word XP): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Data.
Word 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data.
Highlight the Data key, and press [Del].
Confirm that you want to delete the key.
Close the registry.

Restart Word

It should be OK then (with the original Normal.dot restored)

Enjoy!
Han Li
