Hi all,
Having translated a Word file using TE, I cannot save it as target, with the following error message given:

Error while converting fields to Word Document

Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Ralf

Hi Ralf,

I don't remember whether this is the same message I got a while ago, but it had the same effect that I couldn't clean up the TE file or save as target.

In my case, it turned out to be a missing line break between a field (TOC) and a section break in the source file. After I inserted the hard line break in the original Word doc and retranslated it in TE, everything worked as it should (well, OK, there were some other issues, but not Trados related).

Good luck!

Thanks, Heike.
It turned out to be a missing field code.

On a side note, SDL Trados support were very quick to identify the problem.

Best regards,
Ralf
