Hi, I hope this question hasn't been posted already. I had a quick look but didn't find the topic.
I just bought a new PC with the Windows Vista OS and I wondered whether I can still use my Trados 6.5 with Word, Excel etc or if I have to buy the new SDL Trados 2007 right away.
I thank you for your answers.
Francesca

It works smoothly Sep 11, 2007

Hi Francesca,

Speaking only from personal experience, my VAIO laptop with Windows Vista OS bought 3 months ago works beautifully with my Trados 6.5; never a problem.

Hope you'll enjoy the same experience!

Best,
Cintia.

Hi, Cintia
thank you for your answer. Well even the PC I bought is the same), but I haven't tried it with my Trados yet. Now I'm relieved.
Thank you very much
Francesca

Works fine Sep 26, 2007

Hi Cintia,

according to my experience, Vista works fine with Trados 6.5, whereas Trados 8 on Vista was a nightmare.

Also need help with the same problem Oct 11, 2007

I also run the installation. Everything went fine but I am experiencing the same problem: I can't find the Trados toolbar in Word 2007. Thanks

Trados 6.5 compatibility with Windows Vista Oct 11, 2007

I managed to have the toolbar displayed, but Trados 6.5 doens't work. I wrote to the Trados troubleshooting department to know whether my Trados version works with Vista, but they replied it doesn't. Either I install XP (it should also support Word 2007, but in this case I would lose the guarantee of the product) on my new Pc or I have to buy the update (SDL Trados 2007).
I hope I could help you.
The OS Vista does not support Trados 6.5 according to SDL Trados
