For Arabic Translations Dec 17, 2007

Hello Hans,

the "Context based number display" is only interesting for for Arabic translators.

In arabic languages there are two number formats in use: the "european" numbers as we know them here and the corresponding arabic numbers.

You might like to check this to see a comparison of the two number formats:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Arabic_numerals-de.svg

You might like to check this to get an idea of arabic keyboard layout:
http://www.tarsus.de/arabisch/arabic-kbd-layout.pdf

Turning the context option on will be useful for Arabic translators. If the option is on and the surrounding text is recognized as arabic text, hitting the number keys on the keyboard will insert arabic digits. If the surrounding text consists of latin based characters, the know 1, 2, 3 numbers will be inserted.

When translating into any other languages, this option should be turned off.

Please note, that you need TE connected to an arabic tm and that you need support for arabic languages and an arabic IME to get any use of this feature.

Kind regards,
Stefan Gentz
