Dear Colleagues,
I am planning to purchase Trados and I have to choose between SDLX and Workbench. I would be most grateful if someone could explain what is the difference between these two and which one I should choose. Thanking you in advance.
Inga

You get both anyway
Dec 18, 2007
Dear Inga,
as far as I know, you get both of them anyway when you purchase Trados (at least, I did when I bought SDL Trados Freelance 2006). So you can decide after having tried them.
Kind regards, Erik

For certification? It depends

I assume, Inga, you bought a package that includes certification in one of the two.
If you're buying SDL Trados because you have clients or potential clients who use Trados, choose that one. If you want a wonderful CAT tool, choose SDLX.
Good luck in your career!

I recently bought Trados and it comes with SDLX (which, by the way, I have never used).

Thank you all

In fact I am buying as a package and I have to choose one of them. I am purchasing Trados as clients sometimes want the translation in Trados so I guess I will have to choose Workbench. If I get both that will be even better. Thanks for helping me out.
