SDLX in Trados 2007 Freelance

Hello!

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I could not find a thread.

I have SDL Trados 2007 Freelance.
Now I received .itd files from a customer.

When I try to open the file, I get the error message 'SDLX Lite does support this file'.
I thought SDLX was integrated into the 2007 version, do I need to unlock it first?

Thanks in advance for your help and kind regards,

Joanne

SDLX Lite versus SDLX Standard Dec 19, 2007

Hi Joanne,

Did you use SDLX Lite before?
Your error message states that SDLX Lite cannot open the file. If your customer does not have SDLX Elite (different version to SDLX Standard) to create the ITD you cannot open it with SDLX Lite.

I thought SDL Trados 2007 came with SDLX Standard and if you opened it through that menu you should not have a problem.

Is it installed? Dec 19, 2007

Look at the Run - programmes - SDL International entries. There should be a bunch for SDLX. Run the SDLX module and open Edit from the toolbar-icon. Open you file.

If you have SDLX lite installed, deinstall and install the version that came with your TRados-download.

Heinrich

Thank you! Dec 20, 2007

Franziska and Heinrich, thank you very much for your help!
After reinstalling several times, I finally made it
The problem was that the installation of SDLX was skipped since I still had components of SDLX Lite on my machine.

Kind regards and thanks again,

Joanne
