I just re-loaded Trados 5.5 and when I opened Word 2003 (too old?), I noticed that the usual Trados commands did not display in Word. I re-loaded Word, but they still don't show. I tried to use Trados commands even though they are not displayed, but nothing happens.
In Word, I clicked on View>Tool bar, but TW4WIN does not show.
Any ideas?
I would (WOULD) contact Trados customer support, but I am sure I am no longer covered and even when I was, I remember having to wait for ever for any type of answer....

Any brilliant ideas?
Grazie,
Lucia

Hi Italian T and I,

I have a German version of Word, nevertheless I will try to help you. Maybe the menus have a different name.
Have you tried following:
Menu Extras
Templates and Add-Ins
Here you must check Trados?.dot

Good luck

Trados 5.5 toolbar does not show in Word Jan 31, 2008

Hi and thank you for your reply.
I re-opend Word 2003 (just to make sure) and under Tools I found Templates and Add-Ins.
However, there was not Trados? to be selected. There was nothing open for selection.

Did I miss a step?
Thank you,
lucia

Trados toolbar Jan 31, 2008

Hi Lucia,

I just consulted a very old manual I have of the version 5. There it says that you have to install the workbench and then click on the flagman symbold in Word. If it does not appear you have to look for the file tw4win2k.dot (version 5). If you can't find it, you have to add it. It is located in the installation folder of the workbench.

Regards
Marianne

DO THIS Jan 31, 2008

1. Go to "C:\Program Files\TRADOS\T5_FL\TT\Templates
2. Copy "TRADOS5.dot"
3. Paste it on "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP"

That should do it. But, if not, do this following:

and, run it ("esecutare").
