How can I translate the segments I translated in Trados? The function is disabled in the TagEditor.

Copy + Paste into Word Mar 3, 2008

Hello Tilli,

I'm sure there have to be other ways but I just copy the content in TagEditor, paste it in Word and then run Word's spell checker.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Jerónimo

Word Spelling cheker plug-in Mar 3, 2008

Hi TILLI,

Go to Tools, Plug-ins, checkmark the options Spelling Checkers, Word Spelling Checker and click the OK button.
You can spellcheck your entire document or all segments as you close them.
Hope it helps
Marina

To make sure TagEditor accesses the right components of the Word spell checker, start Word and set the default language to your target language before starting TagEditor.

Best regards,

No grammar check, though Mar 4, 2008

I've up to now been unable to have my TagEditor files checked for grammar mistakes by my word spellchecker (i.e. Duden Korrektor). It only checks if any word appears in the dictionary, that's all. In Word the same spellchecker can do a lot more.
I've therefore come to the following quite cumbersome procedure:

1. Translate document in TagEditor
2. Save monolingual target file
3. Spellcheck (and grammar check etc.) monolingual target file in Word
4. Align source and checked target file
5. Create TM

Duden Korrektor usually crashes while checking bilingual files, hence points 2 and 4.
