Hi,

I've been using SDLX for a while now, without bothering about Analyse.
Now, that I've finally got to it, I can see why - it's a tedious, unfriendly process compared to the Trados one!

Here's what I was doing:

I enter 3 source (.itd) files under the New Files tab;
I give a name to the log/csv files under the Reporting tab;
I click Analyse, and after a few seconds I get the error message: "Analysis Process Interrupted".
I sit and stare, uncomprehending...

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Doron

Which version? Mar 12, 2008

Hi Doron,

I had the same problem once, and I'm afraid I have to disappoint you : if you run the "normal" version of SDLX, which is included in the SDL Trados package, you can not proceed the analyse.
To do that, you must have the full Professional version of SDLX and then, you will have access to all the available features.

Hope it helps,
Sylvain

I run SDL Trados 2007 Mar 12, 2008

Of that reason I didn't think!

And I must agree with those who named that error "Analysis Process Interrupted" - it certainly puts you off using it ever again...

So is there a simple(r) way of running Analyze in SDLX (like in Trados)?

Thanks, Sylvain

I don't think Mar 12, 2008

I find it a pity not to be "warned" upfront that the analysis function is not available... and yes, it seems very complicated anyway!
I usually run the analysis in Trados...

On a side note, in the SDLX Edit window, the menu View > Statistics gives you a good overview of the quantity of text to translate (already translated, 100% matches, fuzzy matches and untranslated). Like a "real time" analysis, so to say

Tried the Statistics... Mar 12, 2008

And it gives you almost everything except repetitions.
I can't export to Trados (file type is not supported), so there you are...

Thanks for all the tips! Doron
