Some outsourcerers require translators' credentials verified by ProZ.com. How can it be done? How do we benefit from it?
What makes it so important?

Thank you in advance,

Inés.

Just confirmation that your statement in profile is true. Jan 27, 2005

Hi Ines,

"Credentials FAQ

1. How do I get a credential verified?

ProZ.com verifies language-related credentials reported by ProZ.com members. At this time the following credentials can be verified:

* Accreditations issued by authorities such as: AAIT, AAIC, CTA, etc.
* Language-related Academic Credentials / Degrees issued by accredited educational institutions

First, report your credentials in your profile.

Second, send copies of your credential (including an English translation, if necessary) to ProZ.com, by one of the following means:
Postal mail:
Fax:
Email (as image attachments):/.../"
For more details see: http://www.proz.com/faq/credentials#credential_verified

If you have your credentials verified by ProZ.com, the outsourcer is assured that it's actually true, otherwise it is just your statement only and many will require you to send a copy.

In short: if you have any credentials, it is better to have them verified, because it can improve your chances when negotiating with clients.

HTH

Magda
