I have one question with which some of you may be able to help me. I am owning a Trados Version 6.5 LSP Pro with a free upgrade possibility to 7.0. This software was a gift to me, but I cannot use this software to the total advantages it offers. How and where can I sell it at best and to the maximum security? As this software is mainly applicable for larger translation agencies I wonder how and where i could ask to sell it? Kind regards,

Maybe e-bay?

Hello,
One way to sell this would be to put it up on e-bay. Put a reserve on it, however. You don't want to sell it for 200 Euro if it was purchased for 800... You may want to read the help files on e-bay to know what a reserve is and how to use it.

A lot of translators who are starting out look for this on e-bay, mainly because they don't have a regular workflow yet and therefore don't necessarily have that much money to spend on software. If you can sell it there for about 2/3 of the original price, you will be happy and they will be happy, too.
Hope this helps
P.S.: I would put a 400 Euro reserve, considering how much this is worth. Also, make sure you check out the buyer's file... Also check with Trados how you can sell this if your version, as I suspect, is one that was downloaded and doesn't come on physical CDs. You are then basically transferring your license, which is a particular type of transaction. I would say 500 Euro is a fair price for both parties.
