Hello,

I'm doing transcription works but it takes lots of time to type, and I've heard that you can find some software that can transcript your audio file directly to a text format.
Have any of you heard about it or are using it because I think this could save me lots of time !

Thank you !

So far I can remember, DNS may be used for dictation as for typing directly from audio files.
At least, in Spanish. But, I do not remember wich kind of audiofile it use: waw, mp3 or any other.
On the other side, I suspect such audio files should have a size limit as they will grow very fast

You can use Dragon Naturally speaking. I did for a Spanish audio file, but I'm not sure if it works in English, too (I suppose it does as long as you have the English version)
However, be careful, you'll need to "train" the software, and also to make the audio file certain format (can't remember which one).
The result, well, depends a lot on the original voice, but it can save you some time, since you can let DNS do the transcriptions while you correct the output of a previous one (and there will be A LOT to correct!)
AFAIK, that one is the only software I know capable of doing such thing, at least after my research a while ago.
Let me know how it works for you.

Thesedays almost all sectors need their recorded audios to get transcribed for clear understanding and further reviews. For that, you will find many softwares in the market for quick transcribing. Do a bit research on the web and you will get a free software also.
