We are looking for a set of FREE professional icons that seem appropriate for using in a site handling linguistics and translation issues and some other academic and intellectual concerns. It is worth highlighting that the required icons are supposed to be used in different locations of the site covering registration, books, researches, forums, accreditations, high level discussions, links to high-level guests, and the like.
It is essential to notice that the site is visited by highly specialized people, and we are insistent to maintain our professional, formal image with slight vividness in the overall look by means of adding the mentioned icons.
For more understanding of our request, kindly visit our website at:
Thank you in advance for your kind concern and quick help,
Amer Al Azem

For free icons, try the Open Clipart Library:
The preview icons are in PNG and are in black and white, but the SVG format files are of course colourable and scalable and editable in any SVG editor. For editing SVG files, I used Sodipodi, but I'm aware that the GTK library used by Sodipodi is no longer publically available and you might struggle to get it to work. There may be other SVG editors available somewhere.
If you don't mind the colours (or you can change the colours in another image editor) you can get an SVG plug-in for your browser and view the files in your browser, and then do a screen capture of the bitmap. There may be other SVG viewers available that don't have editing functions but at least then you can scale the darn thing and do a screen capture.
