Hi,
with the last update, Firefox has - again - changed the old download manager / status bar. I really don't like the new one, also because you always have to call it from the menu, and it's way too complex. The one I mean is the old one, a simple little secondary window showing the progress of a download and you can stopp / pause etc.

I remember the last time, I was lucky to find an expert Firefox site that explained the reset process in order to restore it, I had to go deep into the special settings of Firefox and changed a checkbox (Firefox told "dangerous", but it worked fine). Unfortunately I didn't save that page into my HowTo's, so I'm here today...

Thanks very much for pointing me to a solution,
Mike

Ctrl + J still seems to work for me.

That's the library, but it's game over for the old window Dec 22, 2013

Hi Philip,
thanks to respond. This shortcut will in fact bring up the library with the download section.
The old download window is definitely gone with Firefox 26+

For those who still want the same window, please go here:

Greets,

I have no idea what you're going through, because shortly after Firefox changed the download status bar, I googled for an add-on that does the same thing, and I've been using it ever since:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/download-statusbar/
