Hi. Does anyone know about a program that would copy the original tables from a PDF document, and allow some adjustments. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

right click? Jul 17, 2015

Adobe Acrobat has a feature whereby, when right-clicking over selected text, the menu offers "Copy as table" or even "Open table in spreadsheet."

What you mean by "allow some adjustment" is not clear, though.

Yes, thank you. Jul 17, 2015

What I meant was that I would like to copy the original tables, remove the data and use them somehow for my target text. By adjustment I meant that they should stretch, the columns and raws because some terms may be longer or shorter in English.

Yes, I've been down this path already....

And the better solution I found was a (free) trial version of the following:

http://www.nuance.com/for-business/imaging-solutions/document-conversion/power-pdf-converter/index.htm

Once converted to .docx the tables can be adjusted pre- or post-translation.

Since my PDF's were subject to NDA, uploading them to any unknown, unproven website would be a most definite no, no.

Infix was built for that Jul 19, 2015

Infix - http://www.iceni.com - was developed to do exactly that, to fix "live" PDF files.

Later, on my (and most likely other people's) suggestion, they enhanced it into Infix Pro, for translating and adjusting layout of PDF files.

I developed a walk-through of one PDF translation process at http://www.lamensdorf.com.br/translating-a-pdf.html . This should give you an idea of the "look and feel" of the program.
