Urgent request- Help with PDF writer! Thread poster: Maria San Martin

Hi all,
i urgently need your co-operation. I am trying to insert text labels in a PDF document and i am only able to insert \"anotaciones\" and not \"texto\". How can i manage this for the text to be text and not notes? My software is version 4.0 of Acrobat writer, by the way,

Hi Maria, let me see if I understood your problem. When you have your PDF page in front of you, next to the graphic select tool you\'ll see the Note tool icon. Select the small arrow at its right and you\'ll see a drop down menu. Choose Free text tool. I think this is the solution. Hope this helps

I think what you are looking to do is insert text into the file. As you would in a Word document with the capability to delete text etc. This is not possible. You can only insert text next to it, or add notes. If you want to actually edit the original you need to ask the author for the original file. Then you can save it as rtf, make your changes in rtf and send to the client so they can insert the text into PageMaker. Those are the solutions I see.

Dear Colleagues, thank you for your helpful hints. Actually, you are right in all your comments, as it is impossible to add text in a decent way directly into the PDF form. I talked to a friend who does DTP and he confirmed our guess: PDF is only aimed for printing leaflets, manuals, etc. and not fot editing.
