I really don\'t know how to solve your problem, but perhaps you can find some good help at the Adobe user forums. Good luck! MG.

Hi Maria,

let me see if I understood your problem.

When you have your PDF page in front of you, next to the graphic select tool you\'ll see the Note tool icon.

Select the small arrow at its right and you\'ll see a drop down menu. Choose Free text tool. I think this is the solution.

Hope this helps

Regards,

Matilde

PDF Writer - inserting text May 14, 2003

Hi there,

I think what you are looking to do is insert text into the file. As you would in a Word document with the capability to delete text etc. This is not possible. You can only insert text next to it, or add notes. If you want to actually edit the original you need to ask the author for the original file. For example, the Page Maker or Word file that it was created from.

Unless you are dealing with a translation that they plan on inserting into PageMaker after your translation. Then you can save it as rtf, make your changes in rtf and send to the client so they can insert the text into PageMaker. Those are the solutions I see.

Good Luck,

Carolina

Thank you Jul 24, 2003

Dear Colleagues,

thank you for your helpful hints.
Actually, you are right in all your comments,
as it is impossible to add text in a decent way directly into the PDF form.
I talked to a friend who does DTP and he confirmed our guess: PDF is only aimed for
printing leaflets, manuals, etc. and not
fot editing.
So, what i finally did was asking the client
for the original file in word and that worked!

I hope this will help others to solve this question.

Best regards,

Maria San-Martin Sanzeri
