Hello, everyone!

Can anyone help with a ES sentence. I am QAing a back translation and the client is asking specifically about a single sentence:
"Es extraño que se produzca en personas cuya alergia a los agentes de contraste se desconoce."

Can anyone provide an approximation in EN of this sentence?

Is the construction particularly awkward?

Thanks very much!

Happy holidays to you all!

Harold

surely this would be better as a Kudoz question Dec 23, 2003

I think you would have wider range of answers putting this as a kudoz question.

"It is rare to have any effect on individuals that have no history of alergies to contrast media."

Yes, the construction is clumsy and the meaning is not very clear.

Contrast agents Dec 23, 2003

It is rather strange the reaction it causes to people whose alergy to contrast agents was unknown OR not known.

IN SPANISH: ps://www.asrt.org/patient_public/ pdf/contrast_span.pdf

Please read as well:
..."Special types of contrast agents also are used in magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography scans and other imaging examinations.Because the use of contrast agents carries a small risk of allergic reaction, you should let your physician or the radiologic technologist know if you have allergies of any type..."

Hi Harold..... Dec 23, 2003

.....the best place to post this question would be in the KudoZ section, which is specifically designed for this purpose.

Simply enter your question, language combination and as much context as you can provide.

Merry Christmas and Feliz Año Nuevo.

It is not awkward at all Dec 23, 2003

Es extraño que se produzca en personas cuya alergia a los agentes de contraste se desconoce>>It rarely occurs in individuals whose allergies to contrastive agents are unknown.
More or less like this.
Hope this helps you.
