Hola Tenia una pregunta, es recomendable o vale la pena leer criticas para hacer una traduccion? O sea, criticas del libro o autor. En este caso seria una traduccion literaria. Por que si o por que no? Gracias.

Las críticas incluyen muchas veces información que puede serte muy útil al momento de tener que elegir que palabra usar, pueden situarte en tiempo y espacio, saber como piensa el autor, como pensaba la gente y muchas cosas que te ayudarán a traducir mejor. Definitivamente sí. Leelas antes, no cuando necesites decidir sobre alguna expresión y mucha suerte.

Para una traducción literaria, mientras más sepas del texto, mejor.
Leer crítica te permitirá estar consciente de temas y alusiones y cosas que quizás podrías pasar por alto al traducirlo directamente sin saber más sobre el texto. Y te ayudará a elegir la palabra o sinónimo correcto en algunos casos.
Debes cuidarte de no sobretraducir, y debes evitar al máximo la tentación de dar tus explicaciones o "notas del traductor".
