Subtitling software screen captures

I need to take some screen captures of subtitling software "in action". When trying to take screen captures with Subtitle Workshop and VisualSubSync, the videos don't appear in the screenshots (same thing when trying to capture video frames with some video players, you know). I only managed to get good captures with Aegisub.

So far, whenever I needed to capture video frames only I used specific software like CyberLink. Problem is, this time I have to show how these subtitling programs work, and I need to provide top quality screenshots.

I thought of recording "inside my PC" with specific software and capture some video frames later. But I would like to try some other method first.

Thanks in advance! Regards to all subtitlers around here.

I already tried using Corel Capture 12, but it didn't work either...

It seems like using an external camera would be the most reliable option.

Thanks for your reply!

I tried just in case... May 22, 2009

... but truth is, this has nothing to do with hardware. I could take some neat screenshots for Aegisub which are exactly what I want (and all I had to do was pressing the Print Screen key), but I can't do the same with other subtitling programs and video players (and I have to include them as well! hence my question).

Thanks anyway.
