Subtitles or voice-over dubbings for broadcasting services
Thread poster: claramendez

Hello,

I am doing some research for the company I work for. One of our clients intends to broadcast their English-speaking services in the countries below and is looking to use either subtitles or voice-over dubbings, but would like to know which is the best option. In your opinion, which one of the two options is currently more successful or more common in the countries below?

Amman, Jordan
Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa
Johannesburg, South Africa
Manila, The Philippines
Moscow, Russia

Thank you very much for your help,

I've read that it tends to be somewhat country dependent. I just found this web-page which seems to confirm that:
