Hi everyone, I was recently reading about this service provided to film festivals by some large subtitling companies. I got curious so I started reading some of the participation rules for film festivals where the requirement for a director to register their movies for the competition is to provide the timecoded subtitle file (that's what we generally offer when we provide our services as subtitlers) and then the festival takes care of the "electronic subtitling service". Does anybody know what that specifically entails, what tools are used and what is the task a subtitler completes in the related booth? Thanks in advance!

There is a firm in Brazil that specializes in that, including real-time subtitling in festivals.

Their web site is: http://www.legendagem.net/

You may find an ancient (2006) interview with one of their founders:

But everything is in Portuguese, of course.
