Who’s line is it anyway?
A one day seminar and workshop on subtitling.
Welcome to our seminar on subtitling on April 3, 2009 in Ystad, Sweden.
The seminar takes place at Cineteket, Elis Nilssons väg 8, at the old military compound surrounding Ystad Studios. The seminar features Paul Memmi, Amalie Foss and Anna Maris and costs 360 kr per person, including lunch. After the seminar you are welcome to attend a preview of Paul Memmi's exhibition at the Cineteket Film Gallery (www.paulmemmi.com).
During the day, you get an insight into the art of subtitling, the creative process, guiding principles and technology. The day will consist of lectures, discussion and practical workshops. You also have the opportunity to meet three international subtitling professionals and ask questions on all aspects of translation for film and television.
The seminar will be in English (but may be interspersed with Danish, Swedish, French and possibly other langages). It is aimed at university students, translation professionals and people interested in language, television and popular culture.
