Please help me for the project.

I used Swordfish and it will not display the German of the source dox document.

It will display it ONLY when I go to Edit -> Edit Source - > Accept changes to source. But in that case, I will need to edit the entire document anew.
If I copy the segment from Word and paste it into Swordfish window, and then use any function, the text reverts to non-displaying

I have all specifications below:

*Mac Snow Leopard ( I went to System preferences and set German and English on the language panel)

*Word for Mac 2008, already converted to doc

*I set the source language in the swordfish as de-Germany.

* Swordfish II

Is it the problem with Mac, font book, Word or Swordfish, I have no idea.

Thank you a lot!

Anna

Swordfish supports German Aug 9, 2010

Hi Anna,

You have to convert your .docx file (not .doc) to XLIFF as shown in this video:
http://www.maxprograms.com/tutorials/Swordfish_demo.html.

Once you have your XLIFF file open in Swordfish, make sure to have select a font that supports German special characters. In "Options" menu, select "User Interface Configuration" and then "Font Settings". Choose a font and save your changes.

There is no need to edit source unless you want to correct a mistake in the original text. This feature is useful for generating a correct TM from your translation.

Regards,
Rodolfo

Converted, still no use Aug 10, 2010

Hi Rodolfo,

thank yo for both replies. I appreciate it.

I converted first before starting the translation, but it does not help. I am not sure why.

I guess it is the German font problem Aug 10, 2010

Hi Rodolfo,

I thin I do not have a necessary font. There are some libraries with fonts. One of them is called English. There is no library with German or Russia fonts.

So ii will try to figure out now how to download them

Thank you for the answer!
