Fellow translation learners, I'm on the hunt for a few textbooks to prepare my thesis proposal this year. Some names:

K. Klaudy (2003) Languages in translation: Lectures on the theory, teaching and practice of translation, Scholastica, Budapest
Bell, Roger T. 1994. Translation and Translating. Longman Group UK Ltd.
John Benjamins, Amsterdam (2004)

Kussmaul, Paul. (1995). Training the Translator. John Benjamins Publishing Co.
Munday, J., (2008) Introducing translation studies: Theories and applications
(2nd ed.)Routledge, New York, NY

Newmark, Peter. 1995. A Textbook of Translation. Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data.

Saldanha, G. & O’Brien, S. (2014). Research methodologies in Translation Studies. London: Routledge.

If you or someone you know has a used copy of any of the above, at a reasonable price, kindly let me know.

Thanks!

I am sorry I have no copy of those books.
I read some of them online a certain years ago.
However, careful search can hit any of them. Other than request here, please try it yourself as well.

Your assumption is forgiven because you don't know me, but I have access to many publications on PDF via my university website. However, I always prefer to have a printed textbook.

All the same, I know some books are either too expensive or too new to have any used books out there, even ex libris copies (cancelled library books, I mean).

I regularly use my universities' intranet portals to access articles on PDF, but rarely do I get access to the full books. I'll check this website out.

PDF books are my second option Jun 15

Hi, Jean,
Yes, of course. Although a PDF book may be superior in terms of making annotations, bookmarks, and other stuff, and may be very portable, I am old school and still go to printed books as my first choice. Thanks.
