Hola,
I have been teaching myself Spanish with CD roms and through the internet. I am looking for some simple texts or stories in Spanish that I can read and understand. Could you suggest any such sites?
Thank you for your suggestions,
Mathangi

Try a dual language/bilingual book, & children's books Mar 17, 2008

Hola Mathangi,

Perhaps try a dual language/bilingual book - I have just found one called "First Spanish Reader: A Beginner's Dual-Language Book (Beginners' Guides)".

Check it out here: http://astore.amazon.com/mylanwor-20/detail/0486258106/103-7907215-6229431

You will see customer reviews too - people seem to find this book helpful.

Even better, if you buy it through my website (same price as on Amazon), a portion of the money spent on the book goes to UNICEF.

Also from the same website (above) you can click on the Language Lizard link, and find bilingual books in most languages. Although they are children's books, they are often a lot easier to understand than adults' books, and are very helpful when learning languages. You can also buy matching audio CDs, to listen and read at the same time.

I hope that helps, and good luck!

Hi Mathangi,

I teach Spanish to little children and my kids. I use a number of sites for text and supplies. Here are some that might be helpful.

Hi, there... Still looking for stories to practice your reading skills? Try with the stories of the Instituto Cervantes. In this site you will find stories written specially for learners, presented in different categories and levels.

Hope they are useful!
