Transit 3.0 Smart: Fuzzy window freezes

I have been using Transit 3.0 Smart for years, and it has been working fine. I have not change its configuration recently - nevertheless I have a new problem that may be related to some bad configuration.
When I receive a new project I can open it, including the language pairs. However, even without specifying any reference material, when I click on Alt+Ins, which normally activates the Fuzzy search window, the window freezes. Instead of creating the associative network it gets blocked, and I cannot close it without shutting down Transit entirely.
As the same problem arises when I re-open old pxf files (that I could handle perfectly in the past) or if I create a project on my own. Any ideas what configuration parameter / what else can be the culprit?
If necessary, I will re-install Transit but I think there must be an easier way.TIA

Even grimmer situation Jan 19, 2009

I uninstalled Transit Smart, and tried to reinstall it. No success; maybe the install CD was too old, maybe there is some glitch with some configuration with my computer. So, I opted for Satellite PE as a temporary solution. I downloaded and installed it. I opened the project and the language pair, but when I pressed Alt+Ins, the same problem occurred: fuzzy index window popped up and freezed.
So, there must be a corrupt config file somewhere. (When uninstalling Transit Smart, I did not erase config files that might be used by other applications - this might be the source of the problem.) Any ideas where to look for the culprit file? I guess finding the appropriate file and deleting it might solve the problem, as Transit can recreate it from scratch, so the new one won't be corrupted. But I may be on the wrong track...
Any ideas are appreciated.

Anyway, try to switch those off and see.

Many thanks, Antonin, this straightforward tip worked.
This was indeed the problem. Avanquest's Fix-It was the problem; I uninstalled it, and then I could easily reinstall Transit. Only one letter in the product name needs to be changed to describe its action on my computer...
