Hello fellow translators and Transit users,

Every so often my colleague goes on holiday and I "babysit" her customers. She does her translations in Transit, but I work with Trados. Is there any function in Transit that is similar to the Trados TM export into a .txt file, etc. that enables her to export her Translation Memory, so that I can somehow import it into Trados? I know nothing about Transit, so please excuse my ignorance.

Any help would be much appreciated. Than

If, like me, your colleague uses the free version of Transit (Satellite PE), then she can't export to a .txt file, but this type of export may well be available in one of the "full" versions of Transit.

If your colleague uses Transit Satellite PE, she delivers her finished projects in .TXF files, and as far as I know these can be imported into Trados. I no longer use Trados so I can't be sure on that.

It might be worth asking your question in the

It might be worth asking your question in the "transit_termstar" group on Yahoo; that's where most of the Transit "experts" seem to be.

Generally speaking, "tmx" is the format for using Transit TM in Trados and vice versa.
