Is it possible to analyse files in Transit XV as is possible in Trados (that is, to see what percentage of a file has already been translated and is in the memory)? I mean to analyse the files before starting work?

Thank you.

Yes, you can :-) Jul 13, 2010

Transit's import statistics give you detailed information about pretranslated words, partially pretranslated words (segments which are perfect matches text-wise, but only have changes in tags and / or numbers), fuzzy matches (you define the ranges), and internal repetitions. It also tells you how many unique words you have to translate to have all the internal repetitions translated. You can access that information in the import log (this import log presents the import statistics in a slightly different way than the Report options in the Options menu) or by creating an import extract that contains only the duplicate segments (and than you just count the words in the extract). In other words, you can exactly know beforehand how much there is pretranslated, still to translate, how much fuzzies you will have etc.

Best, Michael

... for the detailed reply, I'll try that out in my next project!
