I am using an ancient version of Transit/TermStar (XV Professional, SP3 Build 373). It is so ancient that the help files are not accessible because they are incompatible with my Vista computer.

I have been working on my dictionaries and now want to make a backup. I can't find the dictionary files. The two files "received.mdb" and "TermStar.mdb" are in the standard path C:\Program Files\TermStar XV\DB. I expect to see the date of today, but it looks as if the TermStar.mdb file hasn't been changed since March.

I did a Windows Explorer search, a Google deskop search, to see if another "Termstar.mdb file was accidently saved in another path, but no results. In an attempt to save something of the work I have been doing the past days, I used the import/export function (Options -> Database Administrator -> Expert), and I exported some dictionaries both in MARTIF (*.mtf) and TermStar 3.0/XV image (*.img) format.

It seemed the exporting process went OK, it looked as if the files were saved in the output files I created in the path C:\Program Files\TermStar XV\DB and I got no error messages, but I can't find any *.mtf or *.img files either (not with Windows search).

Starting to get worried I tried all the "save" options I could find:

"save project" (Project - Save As - what should result in a *.prj file), but in the path C:\program files\transit xv\Projects I can't find any of the projects I created, only the two default projects.

"Send project" (resulting in a *.pxf file). When I follow the path in TermStar (Project - Send - Send File (including dictionaries) a window pops up with the path C:\Program Files\TermStar XV\DB and I see the *.pxf files I created. But Windows Explorer or Google Desktop can't find the files.

"Save profile" - (Options - Profile - Save As), same thing. Within Termstar I see the profiles I created, I gave the files one-off names but not traceable in Windows Explorer.

When I work in TermStar (I start, enter data, save, close and start TermStar again, all my input is there, nothing lost, so the data must have been saved somewhere... but where?
