I found this forum while searching the web for information about translation rates in Canada. As a native English speaker living in Croatia, up till now I have translated for local publishers, web sites and individuals in Croatia. However, it seems a publisher in Canada is now interested in one of the books I am translating to English, so I need advice - what to expect from the publisher, what are the average rates and royalties for publication of translations in Canada, and how to go about doing business since I am situated in Croatia. This is all pretty new to me, so any advice is greatly appreciated!
